The Azimio la Umoja coalition has received yet another blow after the chairman of the youth league resigned. In a letter addressed to the Azimio principal Raila Odinga and Junet Mohamed, Solomon Kuria, has accused the coalition of trying to threaten the peace of the country.
Kuria has cited that the latest public consultations were conducted without involving other parties which are part of Azimio. Solomon added that the coalition has taken a trajectory that he doesn't believe in.
"It is strange that nobody found it necessary to consult or inform me of any of these plans much as I am the representative of the largest constituency of the membership of the party, youth," read part of the party.
Kuria has further noted that mobilizing the youth to go for a rally is disrespectful and is taking advantage of them. He has stated that it is unpatriotic for leaders to waste the time of youths with unnecessary rallies.
The Azimio youth leader has also said that he doesn't support the recent calls by the ODM politicians asking Kenyans not to repay the hustler fund. He has said that the sentiments are aimed at inciting the public in sabotaging government programmes.
"These and many other reasons make me feel that this party has chosen a different path from the one that was agreed upon at inception, I cannot be a member, leave alone an official of a political party that seems to stand for everything I don't believe in. This letter is to inform you that I have resigned with immediate effect as chairman of the Azimio Youth League," read the last part of the letter.
