Meru senator Mithika Linturi and CS Peter Munya are set to face off in Kiagu ward by-election.
Linturi, who is a staunch supporter of William Ruto, is supporting UDA candidate Simon Kiambi. Munya, through PNU, is supporting Jubilee candidate Samson Kirimania.
Mr Munya is known to be a political nemesis of DP William Ruto and has been supporting the handshake whereas Linturi is a fierce critic of the handshake.
With the by election around the corner, Senator Linturi has continued to popularize the UDA candidate having camped in Rikana Market where they engaged with the people of the region.
Linturi being a close ally to Deputy President William Ruto, has assured their supporters of delivering the seat and thanked them for continued support.
Rocked in United Democratic Alliance colors, a section of the residents of the region were in sizeable numbers as they engaged with Linturi and his team.
"We listened to the people of Rikana Market, kiagu Ward. Thank you for continually welcoming us. We shall deliver Kiagu Ward in the forthcoming by-elections." Linturi via his Facebook page has said.
