The next general elections in Kenya will be held in August 2022. The presidential contestation is the seat that many Kenyans are eagerly waiting for to see who will become the 5th President of Kenya.
Many candidates as always are expected to turn out to vie for the seat bearing a flag for different political parties in the country. The most expected candidates to turn out for the presidential contestation are Raila Odinga of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), William Ruto of United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and Musalia Mudavadi of the Amani National Congress (ANC).
However, there might be a twist in ODM this time as the deputy party leaders of the party are seemingly interested in contesting for presidency. They are Mombasa governor Ali Hassan Joho and Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya who is the incumbent governor of Kakamega county. According to some of the leaders in western like Rashid Echesa, they want ODM party leader Raila Odinga to support the Kakamega county governor, Wycliffe Oparanya to become the ODM party flag bearer for presidential seat in the coming general elections.
If Raila supports Mr. Oparanya, he will have an upper hand in winning the presidential seat in Kenya to become the next President of Kenya. What do you think about this? Please share your views in the comment section below then follow for more updates.
