'Nilikosana na Wewe Wapi?' Dr. Otuoma Tackles Ojaamong For Allegedly Frustrating His Bid in Busia

Dr. Paul Otuoma and governor Sospeter Ojaamong

The political climate in Busia county is turning tense after ODM gubernatorial candidate Dr. Paul Otuoma leveled grave allegations against his supposed to be predecessor, Sospeter Ojaamong for conspiring to stand in his way to the top county seat come August.

While speaking to locals in a consultative forum at Adungosi market in Teso South, which is interestingly Ojaamong's home-turf, Otuoma blamed Ojaamong for devising several strategies to ensure that he looses his bid, as a retaliation for the bad blood between them.

According to Otuoma, Ojaamong had tried to influence ODM's top political brass to abandon gubernatorial nominations in Busia and instead rely on local opinion polls to settle on the party's candidate. Through the botched plan, women representative Florence Mutua was Ojaamong's favoured candidate.

That strategy however, did not see light of the day after Otuoma stood this ground and asked for competitive nominations which were conducted in April, where Otuoma beat Mutua by over 10,000 votes.

Otuoma now claims that Ojaamong has resorted to poisoning voters especially in his Teso backyard to distance themselves with his quest on grounds that the Teso community will be alienated from county governance.

The unflinching politician has however instilled confidence to the Teso community saying that their interests will be taken care of and that Ojaamong's attempts to soil his reputation should be treated with the contempt it deserves.
