Comparison of Raila, DP Ruto Buying From “Hustlers” During Their Rallies

Kenyans especially vendors have been benefiting whenever ODM leader Raila Odinga or Deputy President William Ruto have been holding their rallies.

The two top leaders have extended their hand of generosity during their vote-hunting mission as they seek to woo voters ahead of the 2022 elections.

DP Ruto is however known for dishing out money to small business owners whom he call “hustlers” while Raila is not vocal when it comes to buying items during his rallies.

Raila during his rally today, Saturday, attracted a huge crowd in Kiare, Nyeri and when he started to address the crowd, he noticed a man lifting a coat.

Raila paused his speech and called the man over to his car and asked how much the coat was as he wore it amid cheers from the crowd.

After getting the approval from the crowd, Raila asked the man how much the coat was as he leaned towards him before asking one of his assistants to pay him.

“Leta hiyo, ni pesa ngapi? (Bring that, it is how much?” asked Raila as he excited the crowd.

When it comes to buying things from vendors, the former Prime Minister does not usually reveal how much he pays unlike DP Ruto.

Ruto in most of his rallies usually dishes out money and he is not shy to reveal how much he pays for the things he buys.

In most occasions, the second in command while atop his vehicle dishes out tens of thousands saying he is promoting the businesses of hustlers.

The deputy president usually says the amount he wants to give to a vendor and asks his personal assistant who is usually inside his car to hand him the money which he gives to “hustlers” as payment.

Both Raila and DP Ruto are finding different ways to win the hearts of Kenyans ahead of the tough presidential race.
