Raila Changes Tune on Ruto as Azimio Leaders Welcome Ruto in Nyanza After What Raila Told Them to Do

It has emerged that the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition leader Raila Amolo Odinga has finally changed the tune ahead of President William Ruto's visit in the Nyanza region. This is after details disclosed that local leaders who are allied to Azimio in the Nyanza region will welcome the president during his tour where they will present development wish lists.

According to a local daily, Raila's decision to allow the Azimio leaders to work closely with president Ruto and even encouraging them to welcome the head of state in Nyanza appears like Raila's decision to put the 2022 elections behind him.

This comes after the Orange Democratic Movement party leader reportedly advised the Azimio leaders from Homa Bay County and Siaya County to welcome President William Ruto and engage him on the development agenda.

According to details, the Head of State's visit to Nyanza region today promises to be different from his vist in the area in October last year when elected leaders gave him a cold shoulder.

This comes after State House Spokesperson Hussein Mohamed on Thursday said that the President would preside over the groundbreaking for affordable housing units in Homa Bay. This will help deal with housing shortage in the majority of the municipalities in Nyanza. The project will see the government build 5,000 homes.

According to Hussein Mohamed, the initiative is anticipated to address affordable housing crisis and strengthen the local economy. The towns of Homa Bay, Oyugis, Kendu Bay, and Mbita are among those that will benefit from the project. The Ruto administration is also certain that the cheap housing projects will create jobs for the local residents.
