Fresh Details Emerge on How Uhuru Spent His First Week After Handing Over Power To Ruto

Former President Uhuru Kenyatta reportedly left the country just hours after handing over power to his successor, William Ruto.

After Ruto's inauguration, the former head of state, whose 10-year term ended, took a vacation to think about what to do next and take a break from one of the most demanding jobs in the country.

In an interview with Nation Africa on Saturday, October 1, one of Uhuru's allies said that Uhuru needed to leave the country to reflect and clear his mind after the August 9 elections.

It was reported that the former head of state flew to a private location, though his ally did not immediately reveal the precise location.

While on vacation, Uhuru still managed to keep a low profile. However, his ally withheld information regarding whether Uhuru traveled with his family and friends.

Uhuru, on the other hand, reportedly flew back into the country without media attention after a week of relaxation.

He was also said to have skipped a Thanksgiving party at Safari Park on September 29 that was hosted by Raila Odinga, a presidential candidate for Azimio la Umoja.
