Incoming Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga has urged the supporters of the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition Principal Raila to pray for him following the declarations of the August polls by the electoral agency.
Gladys Wanga, a diehard of Mr Odinga who was also vying under the Azimio coalition, took to her verified Facebook page on Tuesday morning to share her disappointment over the disputed results.
“I know that many of you are now sad and disturbed with the announcement and lack of transparency over what took place yesterday at Bomas. As a diehard of Raila, I am also unhappy,” said Wanga.
She appealed to her supporters to remain peaceful, move on with their support for Mr Odinga and include him in their prayers.
DP Ruto, 55, who ran as a champion of the poor, praised his fellow citizens Monday, thanking them for their patience during the nearly week-long wait for results and saying they had raised the bar in this election.
Speaking during an interview with media houses shortly after he was announced winner of the presidential race, Ruto expressed confidence that Odinga will take up his role in the opposition.
