Photo. Some Daadab Camp Refugees
President Uhuru Kenyatta has ordered closure of all refugees camps on the country starting with Daadab camp. This however should not happen given clearly those people in camps have run away from their countries due to challenges.
Its against the international humdn rights and standards of operation to chase refugees on any account without their will. Already some refugees already know the camps as their home especially given some have been born in those refugee camps.
Though the president has a valid reason in fighting terrorism which is bred within refugee camps, he should respect the human law and have those innocent in the camp to stay. This way the president will be recognized across the world as the most hospitable president in the history of Kenya for atleast accommodating refugees for this many years.
However if Uhuru Kenyatta will reconsider his decision only time will tell but clearly the president should consider having those in the camps time extended. As they say however the president is the only person who can save their expulsion as the days of amnesty are already nearing to an end.
