Deputy President Ruto is set to tour the backyard of former prime minister Raila Odinga over the weekend to lure supporters to vote for him in the 2022 battle. He made a stopover in Wundanyi to meet small scale farmers where he was accompanied by Lydia Haika Member of the parliament of Taita Taveta, Khaida Mwashetani of Lunga Lunga constituency and former governor John Mruttu to support DP Ruto manifesto of bottom-up economy model.However, while in Wundanyi he decided to alight from his vehicle to travel by foot to meet the traders of Wundanyi marked where he urged them to continue with their work since it is his main agenda to work with the hustlers. He also took his time to shake hands with the traders which is unusual behaviour for the top ranked in the government position and later he was spotted donating his cap to the residents who clapped their has as they praised the hustler chief.
