2022 Politics: DP William Ruto's Promise to Homa Bay County Residents That Made Them Very Excited

The deputy president William Ruto on Wednesday 11th November, interacted with Homa Bay county residents accompanied by a number of leaders from Nyanza region led by Migori governor Zachary Okoth Obado.

The second in command pleaded with the region's residents to stand with him in his bid to succeed president Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022 adding he too stood with the ODM party leader Raila Odinga until he became prime minister after the 2007 general elections.

"Si mnajua mimi nilisimama na Agwambo mpaka akakuwa prime minister, nikasimama na Uhuru Kenyatta mpaka akakuwa rais, sasa nikisimama na hawa watu wa chini wanasema mimi ni mbaya," Ruto said.

He further promised the area resident he is not a visitor in that region and will make regular tours in the region ahead of 2022 to prove that he is part and parcel of the region.

"Mimi sio mgeni hapa, na nataka niwaambie watu wa Homa Bay kwamba ntarudi hapa tena na tena kabla ya uchaguzi wa mwaka ujao," Ruto said as residents cheer uncontrollably.

He further promised that if he wins the 2022 presidential contest, he will ensure that he creates an enabling environment especially to the fishermen and other small scale traders that will enable their businesses to expand so as to have a reasonable income.
