The governor of Kirinyaga County, Hon Ann Mumbi Waiguru, has criticised the state for "arbitrary arrests of United Democratic Alliаnce Kenya activists."
According to the Kirinyaga County governor, the state imprisoned United Democratic Alliance (UDA) supporters in order to push them to endorse Azimio.
According to her, they want Kirinyaga ML and incoming Senator Kamau Murango, the leader of the Kirinyaga County Majority, UDA official Hon. Gichangi Bosco, and other UDA sympathizers released.
She continues, "No amount of intimidation, including the presence of NARC-KENYA leader Hon.Martha Karua, can change the fact that Kirinyaga is a United Democratic Alliances people.
Condemn the State's unlawful arrests of UDA-Kenya members in order to force them to endorse Azimio La Umoja Coalition. We demand that Kirinyaga ML and incoming Sen Kamau Murango, as well as other UDA sympathizers, be released. No amount of intimidation, including Martha's entry, can change the reality that #KirinyagaNiUDA exists." She said.
