News has it that, the ruling Jubilee Party has suffered yet another major setback in its perceived stronghold after losing in the Juja by-election to People's Empowerment Party candidate.
PEP is a little known party that is affiliated to Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria who is also a member of the Tangatanga faction.
According to Makau Mutua, Jubilee Party lose in Juja was a big sign that Mr Uhuru Kenyatta had lost Mt Kenya
He added that, Uhuru Kenyatta's influence in Mt Kenya was not going to a factor in 2022.
Official final result in Juja that were shared Oliver Mathenge indicated that,184/184 polling stations had submitted their votes with PEP Party candidate George Koimburi emerging the winner with 12,159 votes, followed by the Jubilee Party candidate Waititu Susan Njeri with 5,746votes.
This announcement came shortly after, Jubilee Party candidate Susan Njeri had called for a repeat of the polls, alleging rigging.
Susan and some other Jubilee leaders had vowed to reject the results should their candidate not be declared the winner.
