With less than two years before the next general elections, the race to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022 seems to have heated up with different politicians now coming together in a bid to form formidable coalitions before 2022.
The latest politician to spark speculations online is Uasin Gishu Business Mogul Bundotich Zedekiah alias Buzeki, who on Tuesday, met with ODDM party leader Raila Odinga.
According to ODM, the former Chama Cha Mashinani CCM, Secretary General met Raila Odinga for a private meeting at Odinga's Capitol Hill offices.
Though ODM did not reveal finer details of the meeting, it is understood that 2022 succession politics and alignments took center stage, with Buzeki set to replace former Bomet Governor Isaac Rutto in Raila's close circles from the Rift Valley.
"H.E @RailaOdinga held a meeting with Zedekiah Kiprop Bundotich of Buzeki Enterprises at Capitol Hill Square," read ODM's tweet.
Buzeki, who fell out with William Ruto in May 2019, after accusing his allies of undermining his politics in Uasin Gishu, has been so vocal against Ruto's 2022 presidential bid, claiming Kenyans should not allow corrupt individuals to lead and drain the nation further into poverty.
The Uasin Gishu county 2022 gubernatorial aspirant is currently shopping for a new political vehicle ahead of 2022 after he recently bolded out of CCM.
While announcing his resignation, Buzeki said Isaac Rutto's decision to work with DP Ruto ahead of was the main reason he had decided to quit, adding that he is not ready to embrace DP Ruto's ideologies and politics.
Buzeki has been so vocal campaigning for the BBI report, saying it is going to bring more resources to the counties, creating rooms for more developments.
His meeting with Raila has sparked speculations on whether the business mogul is planning to join ODM and form a coalition with Raila, taking advantage of being the only politician from the North Rift region who will likely benefit from Raila's government should they form the next government.
