President William Ruto has made another major appointment a few days after the formation of tribunal to investigate Cherera Four, Formation of Nairobi River Commission, and the appointment of Mary Wambui as Chairperson of the Communications Authority Board.
According to gazette notice dated 6, December, 2022, and shared by state House Spokesperson, Ruto has appointed 20 individuals to be High Court judges.
"In exercise of the powers conferred by Article 166 (1) (b) of the Constitution of Kenya, I William Samoei Ruto, President, and Commander-in-Chief of the Kenya Defence Forces, appoint (the 20 judges)," the statement by the President read in part.
The judges appointed include; Gichohi Patricia Njeri, Mongare Josephine Wambua, Nyaundi Patricia Mande, Kavedza Diana Rachel, Chirchir Chebet, professor Sifuna Nixon Wanyama, Sheriff Mwanaisha Saida, and Nyaga Heston Mbogo.
Others are John Mwigimi, Peter Mulwa, Mutahi Gregory, Lawrence Mugambi, John Robert Anuro, Samuel Mukira, Francis Ochieng Odhiambo, Dr Freda Mugambi, Denise Kizito, Florence Wangari, Teresa Achieng, and Visram Aleen.
