Elections this year will be more difficult than anticipated. This period until August will be unpredictable as presidential candidates prepare for the election.
Today, the long-awaited political earthquake occurred. Mudavadi was endorsed as the ANC's flag bearer for the upcoming August elections by party delegates. However, the ceremony proved to be unexpected as the ANC got an odd visitor in the form of the deputy president. Moments after William Ruto arrived, the other OKA principals, Kalonzo and Moi, exited the meeting with their heads bowed. You could see they felt misled by Mudavadi from those scenes, but that is politics. The two (Ruto and Mudavadi) have yet to make a formal announcement, but it is evident that they will work together, with Mudavadi possibly serving as his deputy.
These events, however, have heightened people's emotions on social media platforms. Charity Ngilu, an Azimio acolyte, recently tweeted, "Well done @skmusyoka and @MoiGideon for fleeing the politics of deception." Her tweet appears to be directed at the deputy president, who has made life difficult for Kalonzo and Moi.
Should OKA now team up with Azimio in order to rescue what is left? What does this mean for the region of Mount Kenya? Leave your opinions in the section below and have a good day.
