Ferdinand Waititu was fired as the Kiambu governor after it emerged that he was misusing public funds. It has now emerged that currently, he is facing some financial constraints after he defaulted a loan which he took from Mwananchi sacco in 2020.This has forced him to announce the challenges he's facing, saying he uses small amount of money to pay lawyers who are representing him in various cases facing him. "My failure to clear the subject loan was neither deliberate nor intentional, but it was occasioned by circumstances beyond my control." Waititu told court. "Due to the current financial constraints I’m facing, I’m unable to clear the said-loan within the afore-stated period,” he added
He has begged to be given time so that he can sell some of his properties in order to fully settled the said loan. Kenyans with sympathy have passed this messages of hope to the governor, see the screenshot of their reactions."They should understand a governor is jobless." One social media user reacted.
