"Making Kingpin" Expert Alleges How Matiang'i's Troubles Under Ruto Govt Could Propel Him To Stardom

Beginning in 2023, former Cabinet secretary Fred Matiang'i is now a target of numerous government organizations.

The friends of President William Ruto have attacked the formerly influential minister in the administration of previous President Uhuru Kenyatta.

An elite police force was reportedly laying siege to the former CS's Karen home on Wednesday, February 8.

The reported raid happened a few days after Matiang'i reemerged to offer condolences to the family of former Education CS George Magoha and poke fun at the current administration.

According to reports, members of an elite police unit affiliated with the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) camped out at the home of the former Interior Cabinet secretary.

As soon as word spread that the former CS's residence was under police surveillance, Raila arrived there. He criticized the cops for invading Matiang'i's privacy and said the raid was strange given the time it was conducted.

The former CS's attorney Danstan Omari criticized the cops for their alleged ulterior motivations given their timing of operation while also verifying the incursion.

Following the events of Wednesday, February 8 at night, Kenya Kwanza Alliance officials supported the decision of an elite police unit to search the Matiang'i home.

The leaders claimed that because the former, powerful CS was no different from other Kenyans in any way, it was legal for the police to search his residence and, if necessary, take him into custody. Samson Cherargei, a senator from Nandi, claimed that whatever the police were doing followed the same script that Matiang'i had used under former President Uhuru.
