Kenyans have reacted to the statement which has been made by Mathira Member of Parliament Hon Rigathi Gachagua, who is the presidential running mate to United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party leader William Ruto. Where the vocal legislator claimed that the independent Members of Parliament especially from Deputy President Dr William Ruto's stronghods holds, will not be getting letters for soldiers recruitment from their constituencies.
Speaking during a campaign meeting in Elygeyo Marakwet County in Deputy President Dr William Ruto's home tuff today in a video which has been shared by blogger Pauline Njoroge, Gachagua said that independent Members of Parliament will not be getting letters for recruiting police officers and KDF officers in case they win presidency, since he will not be having time with them as Deputy President hence Rift Valley residents must elect UDA party candidates.

This statement has elicited many reactions from Kenyans where most of them especially the supporters of Azimio la Umoja Movement-One Kenya Alliance coalition presidential candidate Raila Odinga, expressed their happiness saying such utterances are working to their benefit because Gachagua is already showing true colours before they got elected.
Hence whenever Gachagua speaks he decampaigns against Ruto which is now working in Raila's favor, he should therefore continue talking like that since he is making it easier for Raila to win. They argued that Gachagua is a bad omen to DP Ruto's bid because talking like that is jolting his bid, and Kenyans will not accept such backward behavior like what was happening in Moi's government.
