A section of Baringo women have now come out to caution aspirants for various elective seats, particularly Women Member of Parliament Gladwell Tungo and other Kenya African National Union (KANU), that they risked losing their seats if they do not join United Democratic Alliance (UDA).
According to the women who spoke to media on Tuesday, in a video that was circulated on Facebook, the residents would only deal with UDA contestants and not those who are running on other party tickets.
In their speech to the media, they began by condemning their Women MP Tungo for causing altercations and chaos at a funeral after she clashed with her colleague William Cheptumo (Baringo North) and, a Member of County Assembly (MCA) over appointment of directors to government parastatal.
They bashed the lawmaker and dismissed her as a woman full of anger. Also, they accused her of treating women rudely instead of fighting for their rights.
Further, he urged Baringo locals who had not registered as voters to do so, in order to have an opportunity to participate in the upcoming polls.
Further, they averred that Baringo county was UDA's turf. Furthermore, they asserted that deputy president Dr William Ruto was a defacto politician. They sent a tough warning to rebel politicians that they might face defeat in 2022 elections if they fail to join Dr Ruto's political vehicle. This is because in their observation, they would not have any business with them.
"If you are not in UDA, We Will cannot have any deal with you in 2022," said one of the women.
This comes as registration of membership to political parties pans out across the country. UDA and ODM leads, so far, in the enrollment.
