Popular ODM Governor Emulates Ruto as he Urges Residents to Support Him And Rally Behind Raila's Bid

Deputy President William Ruto has been on the forefront of advocating for the empowerment of mama mbogas, boda boda riders, hawkers, mikokoteni among other small scale businesses stating that his government will be focused to empower them.

He has for a while received criticism from his rivals both in ODM leader Raila Odinga's camp and a section of Jubilee MPs who are allied to President Uhuru Kenyatta's side.

The second in command has maintained that he will not relent in his bid to popularize the bottom up economic model, saying that it is the only solution to revive the economy.

Taita Taveta Governor Granton Samboja who is seeking to be re-elected for his second term on Friday met thousands of residents drawn from income generating and leadership sectors comprising of women, the youth, grassroot leaders bod boda operators and also religious leaders outlined his projects in the past four years.

Speaking in Mwatate, the ODM governor said that despite the challenges, he has been able to make great improvement in health, education and business sectors.

The first time county boss urged the residents to support the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga as he makes his fifth stab at the presidency in 2022 on claims that he has a good plan for the country.

Samboja was among the leaders who crowned Raila's Azimio La Umoja campign in Mombasa two weeks ago.
