According to an announcement made by Martha Karua, Raila Odinga's running partner, every Kenyan may rest certain that they will be protected under a government led by Azimio La Umoja if Raila Odinga is elected president following the election in August.
Karua claims that if Raila is elected as president of Kenya, no Kenyan citizen, not even Deputy President William Ruto, his allies, or the other politicians who are competing with the former Premier for the top seat, will be subjected to harassment.
She explains that this is the reason why Azimio, in contrast to some of the other factions, is not perceived as sending threats, and she adds that there would be no partisan treatment or abuse under Raila's administration.
On Sunday, the leader of Narc Kenya gave a speech in Nairobi in which he stated that when it comes to the application of the law, every Kenyan, including their opponents, will be treated equitably, as it should be the case.
According to Citizen TV, the former Minister of Justice stated, "On behalf of Azimio, I want to tell every Kenyan, including our opponents, that the law will be applied fairly and nobody will be mistreated because our opponents are also Kenyans," as quoted by the news outlet. "I want to tell every Kenyan that the law will be applied fairly and nobody will be mistreated because our opponents are also Kenyans."
She stated that as Azimio, they are expecting the same from their opponents, which was an apparent reference to reports that Ruto plans to deal with President Uhuru Kenyatta should he win in August. She said that as Azimio, they are expecting the same from their opponents.
Karua also rallied support for Raila by telling Kenyans to avoid having their leaders be seen making irresponsible remarks or threatening others. Raila was one of the candidates running for president of Kenya.
She stated that those leaders would be given the chance to demonstrate exactly how far they are capable of going if they were elected, and that is why they should be avoided.
"Make it clear to Kenyans that the leaders they observe demonstrating disrespect while they are running for office will behave much more badly if they are elected. Those who seek leadership should use patience and not vindictiveness "Additionally, she said.
