The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party governor Joseph Ole Lenku is reportedly in trouble when a court ordered a recount of ballots in 16 polling places in Kajiado in a case contesting his election to a third term in the general elections last year.
Citizen television said that because the court has mandated a recount of ballots from 16 polling places, Kajiado Governor Joseph Ole Lenku's reelection may be in jeopardy.
In the matter at hand, his major rival Katoo Ole Metito of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party is contesting his victory in the general elections from the previous year.

After being lost with fewer than 30,000 votes, Katoo is contesting Governor Lenku's victory. He contends that Lenku was rigged out of office rather than defeated properly, and he wants Lenku's reelection annulled.
