Garissa Township member of parliament Hon Aden Duale has one again made a public call to the incumbent Kenyan president H.E Kenyatta to make a key cabinet appointment before the August 9th presidential polls.
Duale was speaking at NEP Girls High School during the issuance of bursaries in his constituency amounting to Ksh40 million.
The former Majority Leader in the National Assembly wants H.E Kenyatta to appoint Secretary to the Cabinet, who will be mandated to see the assumption of the office of the president from the incumbent Uhuru Kenyatta to the incoming president who will have won the 9th August presidential elections.
Secretary to the Cabinet will also be responsible for provision of the security detail and security briefings to the incoming president according to the Constitution of Kenya stipulations.
The vocal MP has accused H.E Kenyatta of his failure to appoint the holder of the position since 2014 alleging that H.E Uhuru appointed Monica Juma who the the national assembly turned down but since then the president has never considered appointing another person.
''President Uhuru Kenyatta, since 2014 you did not appoint Secretary to the Cabinet. You appointed Monica Juma, I was the Leader of Majority and the House rejected it. You have two months to leave that office, you are going home for retirement and the chairman of that committee is missing,'' said Duale.
''You must appoint the Secretary to the Cabinet, who shall become the chairman of the assumption of office,'' he added.
