Mathira Member of Parliament Hon Rigathi Gachagua has continued to push the Mt Kenya region out of the Deputy President's post in 2022 issuing a warning to President Uhuru and allies.
MP Gachagua has continued to maintain that as the Mt Kenya region, they don't want any position in DP Ruto's government when it comes to the two top seats issuing contentious remarks.
According to the Mathira legislator, he has claimed that "the people of Mt Kenya are not interested in positions" alleging that the reason why he is saying so is because for the last 10 years despite the Mountain region producing a President and for long producing deputies, the region is yet to benefit economically.
MP Gachagua has said that what the Mt Kenya region now wants is a leader from another tribe and who will help in the economic revival and empowerment of those at the grassroots.
"The people of Mt Kenya are not interested in positions as they have not benefitted economically when one of their own is President. They want an economic revival and empowerment of the lowly," MP Rigathi Gachagua has said.
"They are ready to support anyone who has a plan to revive the economy and create an enabling environment for job and wealth creation irrespective of the community he or she comes from," he added.
The Mathira legislator has also taken a swipe at President Uhuru informing that all they want is freedom of expression to be safeguarded warning that the Head of State should keep off threats and allow them to support who they want in 2022.
