One day after the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commision chainman Wafula Chebukati announced DP Ruto as the winner of the August 9th Presidential elections. Azimio still maintains that the final phase of the voter verification was not transparent. So far, the Azimio coalition, through their Presidential flag bearer Raila Amolo Odinga has not indicated that they will head to courts, but assumptions have been made that they might do so.
Raila lost the statehouse race to his long-term arch-nemesis William Samoei Ruto of Kenya Kwanza under the United Democratic alliance-UDA. In the event that Azimio decides to file a petition in the supreme court to challenge the presidential election results, they are assured that their Kenta kwanza counterpart is ready for them.
This has been made clear by city lawyer Nelson Havi. According to Havi, It will be the shortest fought battle at the Apex Court. He says, "We are ready for them at the Supreme Court. In fact, we will use their own arguments on the quorum of IEBC and the court's determination on the same in the BBI case." Havi vied but lost in the Westland's parliamentary race on a UDA ticket to Tim Wanyonyi of ODM.
