Photos: DP Gachagua Meets Two ODM Governors A Day After Assigned New Roles By President Ruto

Deputy president Rigathi Gachagua had held meetings with two Orange Democratic Movement party governors a day after president William Ruto gave him the new role of Coordinating Intergovernmental relations between the National and County Governments.

The deputy president first held meeting with Wajir county governor Ahmed Abdullahi where they discussed issues around the current drought situation and areas of collaboration between the two levels of government in combatting the ongoing drought.

The deputy president noted that the national government is determined to get the situation in Wajir under control.

"However, the government, working with development partners and the private, is keen to provide both long-term and short-term solutions to the drought situation." He said.

Later, the deputy president held a meeting with Kisii county governor Simba Arati also of the Orange Democratic Movement party where they delved into areas of partnership between the two levels in creating new synergies for better service delivery.

"Today, I hosted the Governor of Kisii County Hon. Simba Arati at my Office in Harambee Annex for talks on delivering on the devolution promise to the people of Kenya." The deputy president posted on his official social media pages.

"As per my mandate of co-ordinating the Intergovernmental relations between the National and County Governments assigned by H.E President William Ruto, we delved into areas of partnership between the two levels in creating new synergies for better service delivery." He added.
