Speaking to the crowd at Francis Kitaka's welcome-home reception for the Ndalani MCA ward in the Yatta Subcounty of Machakos County, Kalonzo made the disclosure.
The Wiper party leader specifically mentioned the Thwake dam's completion and the proposed High Grand Falls dam as two of the numerous projects that would benefit the people of Kitui and some areas of Makueni.
"Together with High Grand Falls Dam in Tharaka, that dam (Thwake) is significant. We pledged to collaborate with Ruto for the benefit of and food security for our people."
In his own tongue, Kalonzo said, "The proposed Yatta dam should be made a high priority since it will supply water in Matuu in Yatta, all the way to Kitui and sections of Makueni."
"The Thwake dam is also still being built, and Ruto has a responsibility to finish it. Once completed, the water will be used to support the planned Konza Techno City and irrigate vast tracts of land "Added he.
However, Kalonzo emphasized that he would continue to support development for Kitui and Makueni residents despite his obligation to the opposition.
Even though I'm in the opposition, I'm a development crusader, and we'll keep doing our jobs while we wait for God's timing, he said.
Kalonzo declared his intention to run for president in 2027 and added that he would be a formidable rival for the incumbent.
"We have seen it all, so I implore every Kamba to get ready because there is currently nothing standing in the way of a Kamba becoming Kenya's president. My only rival is Ruto, who is already aware of this; in fact, he recently acknowledged that Kalonzo is his lone rival."
He said, "Now Luos are speaking like Kikuyu (In reference to Kikuyus paying Ruto for 2014–2017 support), they are saying Kalonzo for 2027. That's why I agreed to support Raila for the third time.
