Ruto who was accompanied by Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa took a swipe at Kingi as he said he has warned him because a section of Kilifi residents have been sleeping without eating anything.
DP Ruto said the people of Kilifi County don’t have water and food saying he asked Governor Kingi to find a solution on how to boost food security in his county.
“I have told your governor, mimi na yeye tutakosana, if we fail to solve the problem about water and food in Kilifi County. There is nothing as important as having people sleeping on a full stomach,” said Ruto.
The DP said he will work with Aisha who has expressed interest to take over when Kingi’s second term elapses on how they can help Kilifi residents to grow their own food.
“I have agreed with Aisha Jumwa whom with God’s help will be the next governor in Kilifi to help the residents to grow their own food,” said Ruto.
Ruto’s speech was earlier interrupted as it seemed someone had collapsed due to hunger and the second in command asked his people to assist that person.
“I think there is a problem there. Can you check on that person? Pengine njaa imezidi. There is a problem of hunger in this world,” said Ruto as he continued with his speech.
DP Ruto during his visit donated food to underprivileged households in Kilifi as he said there is need for a better solution instead of people depending of donated food to survive.
