Former Head of Public Service and Nyandarua governor, Francis Kimemia was hosted this morning on Citizen TV. It happens a day after his speaker was in the studio. Yesterday on morning show, Wahome levelled a good number of accusations towards Kimemia, he described how the governor has been staging scathing attacks in the event to bar him from County Assembly, thus tainting his name so as he becomes unsuitable candidate to run in the gubernatorial race. So it happens the speaker is a relevant party come 2022.
The governor responded to these accusations saying that the speaker is basically not wanted by the MCAs' and that his fight is with them and that is wrong to direct it to him. He further expounded on how the speaker has managed to grab the county executives to his side so as they are answerable to him.
"I know how to run a government, so when I found the county structured in that manner, I simply corrected what needs to be done."
Today Sam Gituku happened to ask the governor a question to do with 'Deep State'. The response from the veteran public servant was framed in this manner.
"You know Sam, Deep State is deeper than the deep, an intelligent person will understand that it does not necessarily mean rigging of elections. It basically means starting all the way from villages, having strategic enormous support from the background. For instance, a popular candidate backed by the State for sure he/she will win elections."
Talks about this popular term (deep state) has been there in Kenya for a long time. Clearly, to many, it scares them by what it means. To others, it may play positively to their advantage.
Do you believe in this kind of talks? Does it work? Can a person backed in this format win elections?
