Rarieda Member of Parliament Hon. Otiende Amollo has sound a warning to all the legislators, Commissions, Non-Profit Organization, Diplomats and Churches following the proposal call to have the Kenya Kwanza Government under the leadership of President William Ruto to kick out the IEBC Deputy Chair Juliana Cherera and her team.
The Legislator alleged that, currently all the forces behind the removal of the IEBC Commissioners from office have no clue of what awaits them in the future, adding that, the move is unconstitutional and will deal Kenyans and other foreigners of good will to Kenya, to flee away.
The MP, who is also a Senior Lawyer, opinioned that, politics should not be linked to the removal of Cherera and her team from the IEBC Commission, adding that, the main issue here is not whether the IEBC 4 remain into office or not, it is about the future independent of public offices under the Kenya Kwanza government.
The Viral, Otiende, told off Kenyans and all who cared to listen, that, a time is coming when they, including the same government allies, will realize the mistake they made due to their myopic nature and the influence of their political parties but it will be too late.
“To MPs, Commissions, NGOs, Diplomats and Churches, it’s not about the #IEBC4, it’s the end of Independent Offices and their Constitutional protection. You’ll all realize when it’s too late, the Power of Precedent! Mark my words,” emotional Otiende noted.
Well, Cherera, is supposed to take over from the current IEBC Chair Wafula Chebukati who is to retire from office following the term limits and the Kenya Kwanza feels Cherera was an alleged mole that leaked what was happening at the IEBC.
In the face of the next 2027 elections, both parties are trying to have Candidates of their choice at the decision table, a move that has seen turn drums and confusion at the Commissions.
Kenyans on the other end, supported Otiende while other criticized him asserting that, it was the time for the Ruto`s regime to eat and make changes that befits them.
