Uganda Closing Covid-19 Treatment Centers As Her Neighbor, Kenya Goes For Another Lockdown

Covid-19 pandemic has paralysed East Africa countries' economy to it's knees.

Among the three countries forming the East Africa Community, Kenya is the most hit country with a total of 126,000 over cases and 2,092 deaths reported.

Uganda is the second country affected with a total of 40,734 covid cases reported.

Tanzania is the last country in East Africa with lower cases having reported 509 cases with only 21 death cases.

Well, Ugandan opposition leader, Kizza Besigye has taken a swipe at Museveni government for allegedly closing Covid-19 treatment centers.

In a facebook post, Besigye wondered why Uganda has decided to close Mulago Covid-19 treatment unit.

Kizza noted the Kenya second lockdown in a move to curb the 3rd wave of Covid-19.

“As Kenya Goes into another lockdown due to a 3rd wave of Covid-19, Uganda is closing the Mulago Covid-19 treatment unit on account of few patients.....” reads Besigye's post in part.

Today, 26th March 2021 President Uhuru Kenyatta ordered a lockdown in five kenya counties effective with immediate effect.

The counties that the lockdown with take effect are; Nairobi, Kiambu, Machakos, Kajiado and Nakuru.
