Dramatic Scenes During DP Ruto's Karatina Tour After Police Nab a Suspected Pickpocket in The Act

There was some commotion at Karatina on Saturday December 4 during Deputy President William Ruto's tour after a young man was caught by police in a suspected pickpocket incident.

According to a video shared by the Nation, the young man could be seen being walked away by around four police officers who were maintaining law and order.

The youthful Kenyan tried to explain himself but it seemed his words fell in to deaf ears.

At the same time, Ruto could be heard addressing the residents who turned up in huge numbers to listen to him, despite earlier reports that a section of Kieleweke MPs and supporters of the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga were planning to cause chaos.

Kenyans who attend public and political rallies have always been cautioned against carrying valuable goods, since some of the desperate citizens use the crowds as an opportunity to steal from the rest, something that can happen without one being noticed.

Ruto will be in Nyeri for two days, a tour that comes a week after the ODM leader held a meeting with regional leaders, Kikuyu council of elders and some Luo elders.

Watch the scenes here.
