In Kenya, Cabinet Secretaries are nominated by the sitting President and later approved by the members of parliament before they begin their official duties which majorly focuses on being answerable to the head of state and government.
Currently there are twenty one Cabinet Secretaries where a good number of them come from the vote-rich Mount Kenya region which is the homeland to President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Honorable Mutahi Kagwe is also one of the Mount Kenya Cabinet Secretaries present in the country right now. He is the CS for Health with Rashid Amana and Mercy Mwangangi as his Chief Administrative Secretaries.
The third on the list is Mrs Sicily Kariuki who is the CS for Water, Sanitation and Irrigation. Andrew Tuimur is her Chief Administrative Secretary.
Lastly, there is James Macharia who is the CS for Transport, Infrastructure, Housing, Urban Development and Public Works. He has Chris Obure and Wavinya Ndeti as his Chief Administrative Secretaries.
