Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) vice chair Juliana Cherera has this morning hang her boots. She becomes the second person to resign after Nyang'aya resigned. Her resignation comes at a time when the four embattled commissioners are supposed to face the tribunal appointed by president William Ruto.
In her resignation, the commissioner had a message for president William Ruto. She said that even though her resignation comes with immense woe, she thanks president Rutto for giving her an opportunity to serve the country in that special position.

Her resignation also comes just few days before Azimio leader Raila Odinga lead a rally at Kamukunji grounds in Nairobi to speak about the ouster of the four. Their issue has also seen Raila and Ruto engage in exchange of words on social media. The two have openly shown their differences with Raila against Chebukati while Ruto is defending Chebukati but against the Cherera four.
