UDA Group Woken to a Morning Shock as Vocal KKA Politician Arrested By Police At Polling Station

Finally, the day has arrived when Kenyans are anticipated to turn out in large numbers at the polls to cast their votes for the various officials they hope to install throughout the course of the next five years in order to change their fate.

A surprising development, however, occurred at a voting location in the Kakamega County constituency of Ikolomani, where a prominent member of the Kenya Kwanza Alliance political party was detained.

At one of the polling places, Mr. Hamisi Butichi, a member of the Amani National Congress (ANC) party and candidate for the Ikolomani constituency member of the national assembly seat, was taken into custody.

He was said to have been discovered in possession of machetes and other unlicensed weapons at the polling place. He was taken into custody right away, and authorities had already confirmed it.

NTV stated that "ANC MP candidate for Ikolomani constituency, Hamisi Butichi, was detained allegedly with machetes at a polling place, police confirmed."
