Health cabinet secretary Mutahi Kagwe on Monday, October 4, 2021 announced the extension of all Covid-19 containment measures.
Mutahi announced that the Nationwide Curfew starting from 10pm to 4am will be extended further for 30 days. This according to the CS will assist in curbing the spread of the virus.
In addition, Kagwe announced that the existing ban on all public gatherings, political meetings and rallies has also been extended further by 30 days.
The CS announced the extension of the curfew will help the government in the continuation of administering vaccines and monitoring the spread of the virus.
As at Sunday, the country had recorded a total of 250,114 cases. The CS in a statement confirmed that this was from a sample size of 3,435 recording a positivity rate of 2.7 per cent.
The cumulative tests stand at 2,572,609.
