Murang'a county Senator Irungu Kang'ata has alleged that the people of Murang'a have been instructed to fight him during the Building Bridges Initiative report sensitisation meetings.
Through his social media accounts, the vocal senator has alleged that a leader who has been stealing from the Murang'a public money is responsible for having given the instructions.
"BBi meetings in Muranga.Goons were hired by a public official who has milked county dry.Their brief message - fight Kangata and endorse BBI. In Maragwa, citizens with contrary opinion were arrested. These goons are my childhood friends-dont agree to be misused."Irungu Kang'ata. https://t.co/Rer87fMeuE
He has also alleged that citizens who are against the Building Bridges Initiative report have been arrested in Murang'a which is against the law and a great violation of the right to personal opinion.
This comes at a time when Irungu Kang'ata has already decamped from supporting president Uhuru Kenyatta to the deputy president William Ruto who is not directly supporting or opposing the report.
Senator Irungu Kang'ata has since vowed to help DP William Ruto to become the next Head of State after president Uhuru Kenyatta retires from active politics in 2022.
