It is barely less than a year to the general elections. The Independent Electoral and Boundaries commission has already filled plans which will ensure that next year polls are conducted in a free and fair manner that is in line with the constitution.
Today,the political parties Registra has proposed that the political parties should hold party primaries in a single to day to avoid party hopping. The move will also ensure that the candidates are loyal to the political parties they intend to register. However,in areas where there are direct endoserment, aspirants will be denied a chance to leading to many vying as independent candidates.
While briefing in IEBC preparedness on August polls. The chair Wafula Chebukati has requested the parliament to pass all the electoral legislation that may be deemed necessary by December this year.
This is necessary as candidates sometimes perceive that late amendment of electoral reforms are meant to help certain candidates.
