
Today Raila Odinga is going to Mt Kenya to seek votes. He Will be accompanied by his running mate Martha Karua. This will be the first time the duo will be doing joint campaigns in the area. Martha Karua transversed 10 Mt Kenya counties immediately after being appointed as Raila's running mate. Today they will revisit and reinforce their candidature.
A list of top politicians from Mt Kenya will be accompanying Raila and Martha during this important tour. Majority of them are drawn from Jubilee which is the dominant Azimio affiliate party in the region. Raila and Martha will be welcomed to Nyeri by Ephraim Maina who is seeking gubernatorial seat. He will be in the company of Priscilla Nyokabi (vying for senator) and Njeri Njoori (Women Rep).
Other notable politicians will be Kanini Kega, Ngunjiri Wambugu, Muchemi Michiri, Wambura Maranga, Martin Luther and Gichuki Mugambi. Raila's visit to Nyeri comes at a time when DP William Ruto has camped in Mt Kenya for the last three days popularising his presidential candidature.
