Kuria Kanyingi is the man's name. He was born in 1945 and held a diploma in motor vehicle technology from Strathmore College in addition to working as a regular technician. When Moi was president, he restored Kuria's car and gave him a promotion to be a vehicle inspector in the Coast region at the Likoni Motor Vehicle Inspection Unit.
He gained access to the KANU government through this, and in the 1990s, he was named the KANU chairman for Kiambu. From 2002 to 2007, he served as an MP representing the Limuru constituency. He was one among the guys Moi really trusted because of his political skill and backing for Moi. As a result of the enormous sums of money he used to contribute to Harambees, Kuria gradually grew wealthy to the point where he earned the moniker Mr. Money Bags. In addition to owning land in Kenya, he possessed interests in practically all of the country's banks.
