As former President Uhuru Kenyatta exited office to usher in a new era of President William Ruto, many changes were expected to occur, especially on the key people around the President.
It is therefore not surprising that within one month of Ruto's reign, he decided to pick up his new Aide-de-camp. That's how Brigadier Timothy Stelu Lekolool was redeployed to the Defence headquarters, paving way for Colonel Fabian Lengusuranga.
The exit of Brigadier Stelu meant that even his deputy, Colonel Rachael Nduta Kamui was recalled to Defence headquarters. This paved way for Lieutenant Colonel Damaris Agnetta as President Ruto's new deputy Aide-de-camp.
As a result of the changes, Lt Colonel Agnetta became the second female holder of the position in the history of Kenya, after Colonel Nduta.
Lt Colonel Agnetta joined Kenya Defence Forces in 2003 as a Cadet Officer. A member of the Kenya Army, she is from the Artillery unit.
By virtue of her new position, 2022 must be a very successful year for the Kenya Army soldier who is now very close to power.
