ODM party leader Raila Odinga and President Kenyatta are disappointed individuals after failing to convince Kalonzo to work with them in the Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya Alliance. According to a report in one of the local newspapers Kalonzo is playing hard to get for Raila and Uhuru and has flown out of the country to take a break from politics. Kalonzo is being sought by both Raila and Ruto so that he can move with his Ukambani votes to their camps.

Kalonzo is an unhappy man after Raila failed to name him his running mate and instead chose Martha Karua. Since deciding to go it on his own, the Azimio leaders have been engaging Kalonzo in talks to see if they can strike a deal that will ensure the Ukambani votes end in Raila’s basket.

After meeting with Makau Mutua late last week, Kalonzo flew out of the country delaying talks with Azimio. Those who have approached Kalonzo say that he is not willing to respond to deals offered to him. Before going to United Kingdom, there were series of meetings planned to take place between Kalonzo and Azimio leaders but his trip without leaving a word has left Azimio leaders confused.
