Dr. Ruto attended a thanksgiving service today at the grounds of the University of Embu in Embu County along with other Kenya Kwanza leaders.
Rigathi Gachagua, Ruto's deputy, and Justin Muturi, the attorney general, among others, stood by his side.
Raila's goal is the same, according to Gachagua.
To get President Ruto to call for a handshake, he claimed that Mr. Odinga was trying to instill fear in him.
"The goal is identical for Raila. In an effort to get a handshake, he wants to scare President Ruto. We do not want Raila to serve in the government, President Ruto." declared DP Gachagua.
Governor of Embu County Cecily Mbarire, her deputy Kinyua Mugo, Senator of Embu County Alexander Mundigi, and Manyatta MP Gitonga Mukunji among other county leaders welcomed the head.
On Sunday during the county's interdenominational thanksgiving service, University of Embu Vice-Chancellor Daniel Mugendi welcomed President Ruto to the institution.
