Former kiambaa constituency member of Parliament aspirant honorable Kariri Njama today Monday, 9 August 2021 attended a crucial burial ceremony of the late Mzee David Kinyua Wahome in the kieni constituency, Mzee Kinyua was father to former minister Henry Gichuhi Kinyua, father Charles Muthee among others.
The burial ceremony comes barely 30 days after honorable Kariri Njama was floored by Deputy President William Samoei Ruto's United Democratic Alliance party Kiambaa Member of Parliament elect honorable John Njuguna Wanjika after getting 21,773 votes trouncing Jubilee’s Kariri Njama who garnered 21,263 votes in just concluded hotly contest by-election.
Njuguna overcame stiff competition from Jubilee Party candidate Njama Kariri to emerge victorious with 21,773 votes.
UDA’s win in Kiambaa marks an important milestone to the Deputy President William Ruto-linked party, with pundits speculating that the victory strongly indicates the inroad Dr. Ruto has made into President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Mount Kenya backyard ahead of the anticipated 2022 General Election.
Hon. Kariri Njama is an entrepreneur and a politician who describes himself as a servant leader.
His desire to lead his people made him vie for the Kiambaa parliamentary seat, not once but thrice. He lost the seat to Paul Koinange both in the 2013 and 2017 general elections. On both occasions, he came in second.
