The MP was accompanied by his Jomvu Constituency counterpart Hon Badi Twalib Bady.
Nassir traversed all the Wards of Mvita Constituency urging residents to turn out and register in large numbers so that they could vote in their desired candidates come August.
The Mvita MP is a staunch supporter of Raila Amollo Odinga and may be the favorite to clinch the ODM Party nomination in the Mombasa County Gubernatorial race.
Billionaire businessman Suleiman Shabal ditched Jubilee to join ODM Party with his eyes on the gubernatorial race. But with the overwhelming support and goodwill that Nassir is enjoying from the party, Shabal will likely decamp again.
Last month outgoing Governor Ali Hassan Joho for the first time indicated that he will put his weight behind Nassir.
Joho was flanked by Mombasa Senator Mohamed Faki, MPs Mishi Mboko (Likoni), and Badi Twalib (Jomvu) in endorsing Nassir’s candidature.
“We know that Joho’s term is ending and as he moves to national politics, we have one of our own. He is a humble person and has been tried and tested and is equally approachable,” MP Mboko said, adding that “we must have one person we know well who will continue with what Governor Joho has accomplished and that person is Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir."
