Bad News For Raila Regarding Karua as it Emerges Who She'll Support For 2022 Presidency

Details now indicate that it could be hard for the leading presidential aspirants who are seeking Nark Kenya leader Martha Karua's support to get it.

Karua is considered among those the top aspirants, especially ODM leader Raila Odinga, could go for as running mate as they eye the Mt Kenya support.

But it has emerged that she has opted to join the OKA coalition, meaning that she has joined the rival team also keen on forming the next government.

This was announced by Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka on Sunday, who said that competitors should now be sure of a defeat in their hands.

“We are demystifying ridiculous politics. Can you imagine OKA working together with Mt Kenya Unity Forum? That is the Kenya that everyone has been looking for and we mean business,” he is quoted as having said during a rally in Thika, Kiambu.

The coalition also once again ruled out supporting Raila in 2022, after three of its co-principals backed him twice between 2007 and 2017.

Kalonzo said that instead of staying around and pushing others to support him, Raila should actually just retire alongside President Uhuru Kenyatta.

“We respect you a lot, and you should also show respect to Kenyans. The two of you came together and brought peace in the country, but to maintain that peace, as Uhuru goes home he should be joined by Raila,” said the former Vice President.

This is even as some analysts like Herman Manyora hold that OKA will ultimately end up with Raila, and is only being used as a holding yard for its five chiefs.

They are Kalonzo, ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi, Ford Kenya's Moses Wetangula, UDP leader Cyrus Jirongo and KANU chief Gideon Moi.
