Raila Odinga honored for his sacrifice in the struggle for democracy in Kenya

Heroes and heroines are honored for their contribution in the national building. Some roads and mega infrastructural projects are named after renonwed heroes and heroines who sacrificed a lot for the betterment of any nation.

Today the former prime minister Raila Odinga was honored for his sacrifice in the struggle for democracy in the country. The colourful event was held today evening at Villa Kempinski hotel in Nairobi. It was attended by senior government officials and renowned businessmen.

The event was organized by Hekima Kaka society. The society officials said that Raila Odinga contribution to democracy is substantial. They honored him for his long sacrifice in ensuring Kenya's democracy thrives.

On his part, the former prime minister Raila Odinga thanked the society for honoring his sacrifices in the fight for the country's democracy and development. He said that he was overwhelmed by the what he has seen today.

The event was attended by several leaders and business people. They include Kisumu Governor Anyang Nyongo, former Gatanga legislator Peter Kenneth, his wife Ida Odinga, royal media service chairman SK Macharia and his close family members.
