Details of Mutua's Meeting With Uganda High Commissioner To Kenya Hours After Museveni's Son Remarks

Alfred Mutua, the nominated Cabinet Secretary for Foreign Affairs under President William Ruto, met with Hassan Wasswa Galivanga, the Ugandan Ambassador to Kenya.

Mutua mentioned their conversations in a statement on Tuesday, October 4, but did not provide any other information.

“This morning I had a friendly cup of tea with Ambassador Dr. Hassan Galliwanga, Uganda's High Commissioner to Kenya. We had an informative conversation. mambo iko sawa,” Mutua stated.

Hours before the meeting, Muhuzi Kainerugaba, the son of Yoweri Museveni, Uganda's president, drew criticism for making divisive remarks about Kenya's democracy.

Minutes after Mutua met the Ugandan ambassador, Muhuzi said he received a call from his father.

"We had a fruitful conversation this morning. Apparently Kenyans were too scared by my tweets. He will report the changes. I will offer a special prayer for our army."

President Yoweri Museveni's son, Lt. Gen. Muhuzi Kainerugaba, has come under fire for a series of tweets he posted, which has put President William Ruto under pressure to intervene.
