Voters in Nguu/Masumba Ward have today returned to polling stations to elect a new County Assembly Ward represtative following the death of Harrison Ngui that happened in June 2021. The by-election that had 3 candidates namely Timothy Maneno who is an independent candidate, Eshio Mwaiwa of Wiper Party and Daniel Musau UDA has each one of them shown signs of victory. The preliminary results from various polling stations have shown that Timothy Maneno is leading.
However the counting of votes is still underway. Gabriel Oguda has send a stinging message to ANC and Wiper as he alleged that they are almost losing the race. In his remarks, he claimed, "Vote counting underway in Nguu/Masimba Ward by-election. Bwana those OKA Principals camped there for a week only to get whitewashed like that? Mudavadi will have to ask the President to reduce the price of alcohol ndio atoe lock. There are no principals there."
